Zehra earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she was actively involved in various activities including, amongst others, Pro Bono Students Canada, the Community & Legal Aid Services Program, and the Osgoode Business Clinic.
Early on, Zehra expressed a particular interest in advocacy, and gained experience by participating in competitive moots such as: the Baby Gale Moot, and the Bowman Tax Law Moot. Prior to beginning her studies in law, Zehra earned her Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Guelph. Zehra’s strong background in economics and finance allow her a more in-depth understanding of complex financial matters, which is reinforced by her years of professional experience in banking and pension administration.
Prior to joining Stephen Durbin & Associates, Zehra articled and was an associate at a large firm in Toronto, where she practiced corporate and tax law, assisting large institutional clients with corporate restructuring, international business reorganizations, as well as tax planning and tax dispute resolution all the way up to the appeal stage.
